Meet Lola 🩷
A joyful, spunky 5-month-old female pup from the streets of Colombo who is ready to fill her forever home with laughter, love, and just the right amount of mischief.
Her Story
Lola’s life began on the streets, where she and her three siblings were found at just one month old in a noisy, dangerous industrial area. They had been dumped and left to survive on their own. Thankfully, a group of young women working at a nearby factory stepped in, carrying the puppies to safety, cleaning them, feeding them, and showing them kindness — possibly for the very first time.
Eventually, their boss took the pups home, ensuring they received proper veterinary care, good nutrition, and a loving environment while homes were sought for them. Three of the siblings were quickly adopted in Sri Lanka. Lola, however, was overlooked — partly because she had a small fungal skin rash, and partly because she was a girl.
Determined to give her the future she deserved, her foster mom decided to look abroad for Lola’s family and committed to fostering her until she was fully healthy and the perfect home was found.
Since then, Lola has been growing up in a real home environment, surrounded by other dogs and cats and under the loving guidance of her foster mom. This home-based upbringing has given her a wonderful foundation and will make adjusting to her forever home much easier. Her skin issue has completely cleared, and she has blossomed into a stronger, more beautiful pup every day.
Personality
The best word to describe Lola? SPUNKY — and incredibly loving.
She is outgoing, confident, clever, and wonderfully independent, but she’s also exceptionally sweet and affectionate. Lola adores people and will happily shower you with kisses whenever she gets the chance. If you’re sitting, she’ll be there. If you’re lying down, expect cuddles and kisses.
She’ll make direct eye contact while sneaking off with your socks and somehow manages to convince much bigger dogs — including German Shepherds — to play by her rules. She’s mischievous in the most endearing way and radiates happiness wherever she goes.
Despite her playful energy, Lola has shown no destructive tendencies — except for one toy, which she insists was absolutely asking for it. She understands household routines well and is already fully potty trained, making her an easy addition to a new home.
When it’s time to rest, Lola takes her beauty sleep very seriously. She’ll head straight to bed when she’s tired, sleeps soundly through the night, and loves sleeping close to a human or another animal — that’s when she feels safest.
Lola is extremely intelligent and eager to learn. She would thrive with someone who enjoys training, mental enrichment, puzzle games, sniffing activities, or even agility. She’s also very food-motivated (fish is her current favorite!), which makes training and settling in smooth and enjoyable.
Watching Lola live her life is pure joy — she’s guaranteed to have you laughing in no time. She’s truly special and deserves a family who will love her not despite her quirks, but because of them.
The Perfect Home for Lola
Lola is looking for a warm, kind, and secure forever home where her vibrant personality and affectionate nature will be cherished. Because of her adventurous spirit and curious mind, she would do best in an active home with people who enjoy the outdoors and want to include her in their daily lives and adventures — and who don’t mind a steady supply of puppy kisses.
She would thrive with a couple or a family who can offer love, structure, and lifelong commitment. Lola gets along well with other dogs and cats. Due to her busy, energetic nature, a home with older children would be ideal.
